Fast Cruises

The Volvo Ocean Race is the ultimate ocean race, facing some of the toughest ocean weather conditions and involving the best sailors in the World.

Recent editions of the race have been sailed on a monotype, monohull type of the boats – Volvo 65. Between 2008 and 2012, the race was sailed on the boats designed in line with strict racing class requirements, built by different boatyards and designed by leading yacht architects in the World. That’s how the Volvo Open 70 class has started. The boats are known for their durability, outstanding performance and seaworthiness.

How it works

Even the fastest boats are not always involved in regattas. So, when they need to be transferred from one to the other destination, we are happy to invite on board sailors not necessarily interested in a hard regatta crew job however still wanting to enjoy a sailing trip of their lifetime on board one of the fastest boats in the world. No experience is required, all safety means and procedures will be explained on board. You will just need some good technical marine clothing (we are happy to advise), accept the regatta sailing boat comfort level in terms of accommodation and be ready to get involved in the crew routine. In return, you will be able to make for instance the Atlantic Crossing within less than two weeks!

The “Green Dragon” was first sailed in 2008 and was previously owned by the Volvo Ocean Race winner, Ian Walker. Currently, she is in hands of a private owner and is successfully used to sail and win regattas in many different places, in Caribbean as well as in the Mediterranean. We offer charters of “Green Dragon” as a whole boat or single berths for many events. This includes regattas and fast cruises, e.g. Atlantic Crossings or shorter trips between the mainland and the islands.
