Giraglia Rolex Cup

The Rolex Giraglia Cup is truly a classic event. As legend has it, the race was created on an evening in December 1952 when Beppe Croce, President of Yacht Club Italiano, René Levainville, President of Yacht Club de France, and Franco Gavagnin were enjoying a long dinner in a Parisian bistro. They envisioned the race from Saint-Tropez to Genoa as a challenge between yachts that could also be seen as a challenge between Italy and France that would favour relations after the Second World War.Today, the Rolex Giraglia Cup has exceeded its founder’s expectations to become a must-do event that attracts hundreds of crews, both amateur and professional, and all kinds of yachts from all around the world. Serious competition on the water is followed by serious fun in the evening, thanks to the event’s title sponsor. It’s a sporting event that is truly a blend of passion, competition, fair play, glamour and “joie de vivre”.

Last year, our “Phoenix”, the all-carbon racer designed by Judel Vrojlik took the 1st Place in the event (ORC 0 Class). We are pleased to confirm availability of “per berth” regatta participation onboard “phoenix” also in 2019!

Jak każde z największych regat Świata, Rolex Giraglia Cup mają swoją ciekawą historię. W 1952 roku komandorzy Jacht Klubu Francji (Rene Levainville) i Franco Gavagnin z Włoch w trakcie kolacji doszli do wniosku że nic tak nie przysłuży się odbudowie naruszonych wojną francusko-włoskich relacji jak wspólne regaty. Od tej pory wyścig jachtów z Saint Tropez do Genui rósł w siłę aż stał się światowym wydarzeniem żeglarskim, imprezą zaliczaną do prestiżowego cyklu Rolexa. Dzisiejszy format tych regat to seria krótkich wyścigów w zatoce St Tropez oraz jeden długi wyścig na tradycyjnej trasie St Tropez-Genua. W 2019 wyścigi przybrzeżne 66 Giraglia Rolex Race w St Tropez zostaną rozegrane w dniach 9, 10 i 11 czerwca a tytułowy wyścig z Wloch do Francji wokół skały “Giraglia” rozpocznie się 12 czerwca. Dla szybkich jachtów ten regaty zakończą się zatem 13 czerwca – nietypowo bo w Monaco a ceremonia rozdania nagród została wyznaczona na sobotę, 15 czerwca.

W 2018, jacht dostępny w naszej ofercie (“Phoenix” JV60) zdobył pierwsze miejsce w klasie ORC 0. W tym roku również proponujemy miejsca na jachcie “Phoenix” – zapraszamy!
